#65 BRC Smooth Mesh — Clean Placement, Consistent Reinforcement

BRC welded mesh reinforces concrete by distributing tensile load across the pour in both directions — longitudinal and transverse. Where loose rebar placed by hand depends on exact positioning under field conditions, pre-welded mesh locks the grid geometry before the pour begins, which means the reinforcement spacing stays consistent even when concrete is being placed and vibrated around it.
The #65 specification uses 5 gauge smooth wire, which falls in the diameter range suited for structural slab and foundation reinforcement. The 6 inch by 6 inch grid spacing provides coverage density suitable for driveways, ground slabs, and residential and light commercial foundations. The smooth wire surface — as opposed to ribbed or deformed wire — allows the mesh to lie flat and settle into position without the surface friction that can cause ribbed mesh to resist adjustment during placement.
Electric resistance welded joints mean each grid intersection is bonded, not twisted. Twisted joints can work loose under vibration or minor positional movement. Welded joints hold their geometry under normal pour conditions. Flush-trimmed edges remove the overhanging wire tails that are a common source of foot injuries on site and that can disrupt form alignment when mesh is placed close to formwork edges.
